Pat worked in research, policy and enterprise development for state and local development organisations in Ireland prior to establishing his consultancy practice in 1994. He worked with Teagasc (The National Food and Agriculture Development Authority), Macra na Feirme (The Young Farmers organisation), The Electricty Supply Board (ESB) and The Royal Dublin Society (RDS).
He has led and managed over 80 consultancy assignments in 8 countries, including Ireland, Austria, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and England. He specialises in policy, market, business research and organisation/programme planning reviews and evaluations. Paul is married with 2 children. He has been a volunteer, staff member and consultant to voluntary and community organisations.
Paul McDonald -Treasurer
Owner/Manger of Fingal Glass Centre Ltd
Paul worked in insurance prior to setting up his own glass processing and glazing business in 1976. The business involves cutting of
glass for domestic and commercial use and processing to make shelving, tabletops and mirrors. It also manufactures
double-glazed units and ornamental leaded glass panels. Paul currently employs six people in his business.
He is involved in his local parish, serving on the Parish Council for four years and also on the Parish Finance Committee.
Paul is married to Darina and has always been interested in developing his own faith and faith within his parish and surrounds.
He worked with the Young Christian Workers for three years and then became interested in Charasmatic Renewal. His interests
include sailing and traditional music. Paul visited Chimteka in April, 2011.
Catherine Paulin
Architect DPLG (France)
Catherine worked in Germany, France and Belgium as an architect until 1994. For some years she has been a full-time home-maker looking after her 4 children.
Since November 2003 Catherine’s husband, Philippe, has been working as a member of the EU Delegation in Malawi. Catherine has been to Lilongwe a number of times and has also included Chimteka on some of her visits. While in the village, she has met the local committee (CVACC), discussed their needs and checked on the progress of initiatives already under way. Catherine also collected information about the area and its people which helped in the assembling of the Profile.
Carol Stafford
B.Sc., H.Dip.Ed, Dip Psych
Computer Analyst
Carol worked in scientific research and latterly computers for organisations including National Engineering Laboratories and
British Non-Ferrous Metals Research, in Scotland and England for the first 9 years of her career. She then moved to Dublin
and taught Maths before joining husband Tony's computer business Codec Systems Ltd. Carol became a Technical Director in the software side of the business, providing training and consultancy services in Codec’s business software and SQL databases. After 11 years, she left and studied for a Diploma in Psychotherapy which she practised for a short time while giving adult computer courses. She and her husband Tony have 4 children.
Carol set up and runs the website for CCS. They visited Chimteka in June 2011.
Phil Dineen – Founder

Sadly Phil passed away on 10th June, 2008
Phil started her teaching career in single sex and co-educational secondary schools in the UK. After 10 years she moved into Teacher Training, where additionally, she served as a senior examiner at national level. In the mid seventies, she directed an education project at Coleraine University. Moving back to school, she spent 20 years in management, initially as Head of the first joint-Church School in the UK (Cof E/RC), co-ed, and 1,300 students. Her next and final post was the Headship of Woldingham School - a girls' senior boarding school of over 500 students. She served on governing bodies of numerous schools, on diocesan education committees and as a member of various national committees of her Head Teachers' Association.
She and her husband, Peter, retired to Dublin in 1997 where Phil devoted her spare time to voluntary work.

John Harrison B.Sc.
Ecological Resource Management
John Harrison a graduate in Ecological Resource Management from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne runs his own cattle and sheep farm approximately 40 miles from Newcastle. After finishing his O Levels and before starting in University, John was a volunteer teacher for 10 months in Ghana. After completing 2 years of his degree course, he returned to Zimbabwe for a further period of 9 months where he worked for a large multi-national company on a very large commercial cattle ranch. On graduation, he completed a number of short-term volunteer assignments including one in Kenya (2006) and again in Kenya in late 2008. As well as running his farm business, John set up his own off farm business using low ground pressure vehicles to access environmentally sensitive sites.
John will take up the full-time volunteer position of Area Development Manager in Chimteka in August 2009. John’s practical agricultural skills and experience as well as his general business acumen will be of great benefit to develop the agriculture and general enterprise in Chimteka. His depth of experience in various African countries will help him hit the ground running in Chimteka.
